Our Story
With roots in Inola, Oklahoma, Ray began smoking meat in Ponca, Oklahoma in 1981—starting in the backyard with a passion for smoke and flavor. After relocating to Allen in 1997, Big Ray’s BBQ officially became a staple of Allen in 2011.
Family-owned and operated, Big Ray’s is built on strong values, Southern hospitality, and the belief that “If we can't do you no good, we won't do you no harm.” If you love the food, tell others—if not, tell us.
A Word from Ray
"Our biggest asset is people. I just want to see folks happy. We use pecan wood and smoke our brisket low and slow—12 to 14 hours—to make sure we do it right. You can taste the care in every bite."

We believe in custom-ordered BBQ, smoked to perfection and served with heart. Camilla, who runs our sides, brings her own recipes to the table—while Ray handles the meats. Even their sons work alongside them, keeping Big Ray’s truly a family-run restaurant.
Come by on Fridays for our famous catfish specials, or swing through any Thursday for the double meat potato with a drink—just $16.99.
